the upside of a snowday
Well, we all went out and had some fun in the snow... Maddie and Henry enjoyed their little snow-mound and Greg and I shoveled and threw snowballs at the dog. Kirby mainly spent his time chasing snowflakes.
more #@*^% snow
March 3 - We have about a foot and a half of snow in the driveway... it comes up to my knees.
We will spend the day becoming intimate with our snowshovels or just wait for the plow service... but they're not totally reliable.
On the other hand, our GirlScout cookies came in. So we have 176 boxes to sustain us if the snow gets worse.
So, if I eat your cookies, it was out of survival.

a month has gone by....
Well, what the heck happened to February?
So much was jam-packed into that month, I don't even know where to begin.
Here's the most abbreviated recap:
2/01 tub in kids room clogged... had to call plumber out.
2/02 huuuuge blizzard. record LOW temps for days to come.
2/04 pipes froze in kids bathroom. tub drain also frozen.
2/05 NO SCHOOL - snow day / plumber visits, unfreezes pipes, no luck with tub drain. I use liquid de-icer to get that going.
2/06 NO SCHOOL - snow day / Maddie pukes at Perkins restaurant, in the dining area. - customers were actually mad at us! ;-) Afterwards Maddie announces "I feel better now", which is more than I could say for our waitress who cleaned it up. Yes, she got a big tip.
2/07 Maddie stays home from school (3rd day in a row) Henry goes to daycare, just so he doesn't watch Disney's "Cars" for the 32nd time this week. I also have my 12 week appointment with the OB, she says that I have a good pelvis. How kind.
2/08 Master bath shower explodes (literally) and water main needs to be shut off for whole house...Hello again plumber. I shower at the neighbors that night. (thank you Amy!) In return, I help her install two hallway lights.
2/09 Plumber returns to install new fixtures, that aren't the cheap, corroded crap that came with our house... he also rebuilds all three of our toilets... I am also "Secret Reader" for Maddie's class this day, let's just say that Henry provided most of the entertainment.
2/10 Swimming lessons in the AM, Girlscouts in the PM
2/11-2/14 Greg is out of town
2/16 NO SCHOOL mid-winter break
2/19 NO SCHOOL mid-winter break (I really don't remember ever getting this much school off.)
2/20 Girlscouts & Chinese New Year Dinner w/100 second graders. Delicious, but loud.
2/21 Ants appear in the laundry room. Apparently they have spent all winter tunneling under our garage. Terminix arrives shortly. (hey, we have a contract!)
2/23 Road trip to South Bend for two nights. Greg and I at least get a nice dinner out on Saturday night, even if we have to battle an ice storm... we went to Noma, a new Asian-fusion place... watching the jellyfish tank was worth it, even if I couldn't drink. I did have some good coffee (ooooh!)
2/28 Visit H&R Block to get those taxes done. It feels good to have that behind us.
